is an El Paso native. He received his B.S. in Education degree from UT-El Paso and taught high school science for several years in El Paso. He entered graduate school at Texas Tech University where he earned his masters and doctorate in microbiology. Since 1990 he has been a professor in the Department of Biology at McMurry University, where he also serves as Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. Gary and his family reside in Abilene, Texas

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in both computer science and mathematics and a minor in communications. While at McMurry, Lon was named a General Motors Scholar. He also holds a masters degree in management of technology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Lon has 10+ years of industry experience in the design and development of computer software applications. Lon resides in the D/FW Metroplex. |
